I have this little quirk where if I'm going to order out from a restaurant, I have to look up the menu and then reviews from patrons. Last night I was going to order pizza and thought, "Hey, let's try the Pizza Hut Pizza Mia!" so I began checking it out on Google and found some awful, terrible reviews. However, amid the thousands of Pizza Mia haters, there were a couple Pizza Mia lovers. The haters seemed to all say the same things: not Pizza Hut quality, different sauce, too little toppings, crust was stale and flaky. On the other side of the spectrum the lovers were saying things like: crust not dripping with grease, robust sauce, the best pizza I've ever had.
Since I'm the kind of person who sops up the grease on a pizza with several paper towels before eating it, I immediately thought that this was worth trying. I was (for once) right. There was zero grease in the box or dripping off the pizza. The sauce tasted like it had more spice than most chain sauces...oregano, maybe? The crust was airy and a little bit sweet, making me want to eat it all when I'm normally the kind of person that throws the crust away. I thought the amount of cheese on it was decent although a cheese fanatic could have asked for more. We did not order any toppings.
So it's my not-so-professional opinion that if you want a healthier take-out pizza choice, go with the Pizza Mia. If you're looking for something that will clog your arteries and give you a pizza face, get something else.

I've always been a big fan of fettuccine alfredo. My all-time favorite came from local restaurant Chef Dan's, but sadly he left Charleston a couple of years ago to set up restaurant in Pittsburgh. I have never found any others as good as his. (The photo is not pasta from Chef Dan's.)
Another favorite is mashed potatoes with garlic butter, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. It's even better if you bake it in the oven for a couple of minutes to get it kind of crunchy on top. Yummm.
In the past few months my life has been turned around. I found out I am pregnant (at almost 20), moved in with my boyfriend, and lost my job.
We don't know what the baby is yet, but should be finding out at our next appointment in two weeks. (I'm rooting for a girl, he's cheering for a boy.) The heartbeat was in the 150s, which usually indicates a girl. We'll see.
Our new apartment is a spacious one bedroom with hardwood floors, marble accents, glass doorknobs, and detailed molding around the doors and ceiling. We have 3 ceiling fans and a non-working fireplace which is now the home of my hermit crabs.
I have two hermit crabs in a 10 gallon crabitat, but hopefully will be getting more soon. I've been having a lot of trouble getting the temperature of their home right because the new apartment is a bit on the cold side... When I can get it figured out, I will get a couple more crabbies.
Hmmm.. I am not usually a Pizza Hut person (one too many stomachaches from the typical Pizza Hut fare), but... read more
